I can’t tell you how many wonderful compliments we received on the food, people raved on and on about how good it was. We are so happy that we chose you to do the food for the wedding, and we were blown away by your setup and how hard you guys worked all day, we appreciate it all more than we can say. And the leftovers!! I never in my wildest dreams imagined there would be SO much food leftover, we have shared it with many people and they all have nothing but praises for how wonderful it is. Many, many thanks for making this day even more special to us, you and Cindy and truly a treasure and we are grateful and so appreciative of your excellent service and food quality.

We were fortunate enough to do the Haney Rehearsal AND Wedding reception at Talon.  Thank you to Rayna from AlwaysPlanned.com and her bride for believing in us to provide a different taste for each day.  It went off without a hitch – and all we got was compliments from the food!  They loved it!!!

we had the pleasure of cooking for Reverend Jim Stewart’s son and very near future daughter in law’s Wedding Rehearsal dinner here in Danville at his Presbyterian Church.  75 people and most of the people I spoke with were from out of town – namely Washington, DC and Kansas City, MO.  The DC people want us to open a restaurant near them and the KC, MO people loved the Q!  I overheard someone say, is this BBQ as good as Kansas City’s BBQ and the reply was not surprisingly, “this is good, but KC is known for its BBQ – they are a BBQ Capitol of the world”.  Now, I didn’t expect them to say mine was better, but I was delighted to even be in the same sentence as KC BBQ.

Everyone likes hot dogs, right?  But Bratwursts are in a class all their own. These Brats we put on the smoker are simply amazing food. total yummo – want to have your next party catered — so you can enjoy your company?  instead of cooking and working so hard you get done and say, “what just happened”?  We know – this is how we always felt our parties.  Call us – this is what we do – and we know Parties.  The Bluegrass was not known for its BBQ – until we came to town.  :-)  The best Bar B Que, slow cooked over seasoned hickory.

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is real food.

Mayor Tom Bozarth contracted our BBQ Team to cater for the town’s annual picnic celebration.  I will tell you, Midway is the cutest, coolest, nicest decorated towns you’d ever want to see.  We can’t say enough good about Midway, it’s people, the council and Mayor Tom.

We expected 125-150 people – we served over 275 dinners before running completely out of food.  We had chicken, boneless ribs, Pastrami, Brisket, our Famous Wicked Beans and our fresh Lexington Cole Slaw.

The town of Midway could have hired a caterer from Nicholasville or Lexington or Versailles, but they chose little ‘ole us – and we truly appreciate that.

Tom had good karma points owed to him – the weather was perfect.  the following two days rained to beat the band.  The citizens of Midway had a picture perfect day.  It was a great experience for everyone.   Thank you all.

so this lady calls and asks us to cook for her 50 person family reunion… like next week.  I told her that is too close of a time frame and I am booked.  So I am trying to figure out if I can help her with a recommendation – then I figured I better find out why this last minute deal?

So she tells me she booked this BBQ caterer in Lexington 10 months ago – then he calls one week before the reunion and says he’s going to Myrtle Beach with his family – “I am canceling”.  I couldn’t even believe it and I told her I’d help.

So Cindy and I told her if she could be patient with us (eat at 7, not 5), we could help.  Cindy and I coached little league on Saturday till 12:30 in Danville (we were all packed up), hopped in the truck with the smoker behind, food in the coolers, etc and hit the road.  2hrs+ we pulled in to the event.  They were sure happy to see us – they looked hungry!  :-)

We started the smoker and started cooking.  3.5 hours later, we had the best smoked Chicken, Brats and Pulled Pork they ever ate.

Here’s the funny part – we were ready to serve at 6:30 – and we couldn’t find the hostess (my lady)!  so Cindy called her on the phone and we found her – she was in the house upstairs or something…  She came out, gathered everyone – not a hard job – these poor people have been smelling the smoker cook their BBQ with Hickory for the last 3.5 hours!  The smell is always amazing.

Fed everyone – seconds and thirds, put all the leftovers in freezer bags (although I doubt any of it lasted till the next morning – there were some big appetites there), put all our stuff away, made sure the area was spotless and jetted out of there at 8:30-9pm.  Got home at 11:30pm and felt great that we were able to pull that off last minute for them.

Shawnee Farm in Harrodsburg, a 1,200 acre thoroughbred farm just hired us to do their annual Party at the farm.  We are honored and delighted.  We will take good care of their guests and make the owners proud of their choice in caterers.
